Marijuana Derivative Reduces Seizures in People with Treatment-Resistant Epilepsy

Researchers find another medical marijuana benefit, using marijuana derivative CBD, in the treatment of seizures. The participants in the study, suffered from treatment-resistant forms of epilepsy, and found CBD treatment useful in the treatment of seizures, with very limited side effects. The compound proved effective for patients across multiple age groups. The research, conducted at NYU’s Langone Medical Center, consisted of increasing oral doses of CBD with follow up lab screenings; further trials are to follow.
